CAUSES OF CLIMATE CHANGE IN QUESTION

Climate change may not be caused solely by greenhouse gases, and we may be looking at an oncoming period of global cooling - not warming. That's the controversial belief of Peter Taylor, a practising consultant ecologist and science policy analyst of international repute.

Taylor, with over thirty years of experience as an advisor to environmental initiatives, governments, the EU and the UN, will be sharing his views for the Changing Times organisation at a public meeting at the All Saints Centre in Lewes on 22 April 2008. Entitled 'The Truth About Climate Change', the presentation will challenge many of the currently accepted views on the causes of climate change, and consider the role of natural solar cycles.

Peter Taylor says: "I will be presenting evidence to show that current 'global warming' is due both to the sun and greenhouse gases - but the latter's role is minor. The greatest hazard facing humanity may be the collapse of the solar magnetic field - potentially bringing freezing conditions to the Northern Hemisphere."

Taylor continues: "There is much peer-reviewed science to show that many climate experts are not being heard. There is an important argument that current policy focussing upon carbon dioxide is a waste of valuable time and resources that need to be devoted to adapting to another possible climactic crisis - one that biofuels policy will make considerably worse."
