CHANGING TIMES is an East Sussex-based organisation dedicated to the stimulation of new thinking, challenging accepted ‘official' beliefs or propaganda with thought-provoking presentations on a variety of topics, ranging from political debate to scientific or metaphysical investigation. Our intention is to gather a repertory of high-quality speakers with a wide agenda, to keep the spirit of enquiry and freedom of expression alive in times when these very virtues seem to be under threat.

Events on primarily socio-political topics are held at the Lewes All Saints Centre, while more mystery-based issues are covered at our Burgess Hill venue (in association with Southern Circular Research, which has been running since 1991).

Changing Times was formed in September 2006 to commemorate the fifth anniversary of 9/11 with a presentation questioning some of the lies and distortions inherent in the official story. Since then it has gone on to present a series of events looking beneath the surface of many different areas - considered unquestionable in the mainstream - and examining them with new eyes. Subjects have included alternative climate change theories, the mysterious death of UN weapons inspector Dr David Kelly, a debate on whether we have reached ‘peak oil' or not, vaccinations, ID cards and the surveillance state, restrictions on natural health, and ‘forbidden' archaeology amongst others. We have enjoyed some high-profile and very well-informed speakers, including figures such as Norman Baker MP and human rights campaigner Peter Tatchell.

Changing Times is run by a core team of individuals concerned at the growing restrictions of liberty and free-speech, a team which includes amongst its helpers an author, a teacher, prominent classical musicians and a couples counsellor. The aim is to promote a truly alternative view to that presented in the mainstream, in the hope that those going home from our events do so with at least a slightly revised perspective on things that really matter.
